Encountering the Old Testament by Arnold and Beyer

The aim of the course is to give you an overview of the timeline of the Old Testament with an eye to application for teaching and preaching.

In addition to attending the January 6seminar you will be responsible for:

3 devotions (designed to be given in 5-10 minutes) from the Old Testament (one from the Torah, One from the Prophets, and one from the Poetic books). Due by February 7

An annotated timeline of the Old Testament that will include major events, people, books, etc., and situate them in relation to each other. Due by April 1

Read 4 chapters (of your choosing) from the textbook (and email a statement affirming that you have done so). Due by April 1

Grading:

Each student will be assigned a grade based on the demonstrated mastery of the material and quality of the work submitted.

90-100= A

80-89= B

70-79=C

60-69= D

0-59= F
